We are proud to have sponsored the Global African Investment Summit (GAIS) that took place in October 2014. GAIS is a platform run in partnership with four African State houses to stimulate global private sector investment into African energy, mining, agriculture and infrastructure projects. The event provides a platform for African governments to discuss the competitive nature of their economies for investment with the global private sector. It focuses on ministers promoting bankable projects which carry high return potential to the global private sector investment community.
The event hosted three Presidential keynote speakers from Ghana, Tanzania and Uganda as well as 15 ministers and agency CEOs from the respective countries. The presidents opening the Summit were joined by representatives from the British Government to discuss bankable projects in Energy, Oil and Gas, Mining, Transport, Infrastructure and ICT.
Johnson Ememandu, Head of Commercial Banking at The Access Bank UK Limited, who attended the Summit, said “The Global African Investment Summit was a pacesetting event that attracted both African and global statesmen and provided an enduring platform to further business interests and investments. The Access Bank’s sponsorship of the summit enabled it to tap into the immense exposure and opportunity provided by such a distinguished audience.
We actively participated in the roundtable meetings focusing on bankable projects and look forward to assisting the businesses that meet our investment criteria, achieve their funding objectives.”
