For the fourth successive year, The Access Bank UK was once again recognised as the ‘Best Africa Trade Finance Bank’. The award was presented by Capital Finance International (CFI), the leading print and online business magazine.
Every year, CFI seeks out both individuals and organisations that contribute to the world economies and add great value for all stakeholders. Readers of the magazine and visitors of the website can nominate individuals and organisations throughout the year. Winners are listed after the judging panel review all submissions.
The award was received by Jamie Simmonds, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of The Access Bank UK, who attended the event along with Rola Seifeddine, Senior Executive Officer and Head of the DIFC Branch of The Access Bank UK.
“It’s a great honour to be recognised as the Best Trade Finance Bank in Africa by an independent judging body for the fourth year in a row,” said Jamie. “We feel very proud in leading the Nigeria narrative, a country holding immense promise for businesses and government institutions in the region, particularly in the UAE.”
“Since we started operations in the UAE in 2015, we have established ourselves as the preferred bank for trade finance in Asia, Middle East and Africa,” added Rola. “Our office in Dubai has contributed to the Bank’s global annual operating income in 2018 which increased by 45 per cent. Moreover, our Dubai office recorded profits of approximately GBP 2.2 million last year, an increase by more than 300 per cent from 2017.”
