The Access Bank UK Ltd Supports the Lord Mayor’s Appeal and City Giving Day 2024

The Access Bank UK Ltd is proud to support the Lord Mayor’s Appeal through its participation in City Giving Day 2024, held on Tuesday, 24th September. The Bank’s team enthusiastically joined the City Giving Day Treasure Hunt at Mansion House, London, an engaging and interactive event that encouraged participants to explore the city while supporting charitable initiatives. This involvement underscores The Access Bank UK Ltd’s commitment to fostering community spirit and aligning with the Lord Mayor’s vision of creating A Better City for All—an inclusive, healthy, skilled, and fair environment.

As part of the Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy, the City Giving Day Treasure Hunt provided an excellent opportunity to give back to the community while promoting team morale and having fun. The event was a meaningful way to support the Lord Mayor’s Appeal, which aims to drive impactful change through innovative programs and partnerships.

City Giving Day, launched in 2015, has become a flagship event in London’s business calendar. This year, 603 companies participated in activities ranging from Wattbike racing to cupcake decorating, showcasing the significant positive impact of collective fundraising and volunteering efforts. Looking ahead, the Lord Mayor’s Appeal hopes to inspire even more organisations across the UK to join this initiative in 2025.

The Bank’s dedication to this cause was further demonstrated on Tuesday, 19th November, when Julie Soyinka-Sonuga, Head of Commercial Banking, represented The Access Bank UK Ltd at the Lord Mayor’s Appeal Impact Reception. This event celebrated the vital contributions of sponsors and supporters who make initiatives like City Giving Day possible. During the reception, the Lord Mayor expressed heartfelt gratitude to participating organisations for their role in delivering transformative
change.

Through its thought leadership programs—Power of Inclusion, This is Me, We Can Be, and City Giving Day—the Lord Mayor’s Appeal provides meaningful opportunities for learning, development, and engagement for employees across the City. These initiatives also raise funds for partner charities, amplifying their reach and impact.

The Access Bank UK Ltd is honoured to be part of this inspiring movement, reinforcing its commitment to making a lasting difference in the community and supporting the mission of the Lord Mayor’s Appeal to create a better and brighter future for all.
