Reinforcing its growing influence in global trade finance, The Access Bank UK Limited was proud to attend the GTR Africa 2026 conference, held in Cape Town on 12-13 March.
Marking its 20 th anniversary, GTR Africa remains a leading platform for shaping the future of trade and supply chain finance across the continent. The conference brought together global and regional stakeholders to explore critical themes including export diversification, sustainability, digital innovation and supply chain resilience – all central to advancing Africa’s
position in global trade.
Representing The Access Bank UK Limited at the event was Julie Soyinka-Sonuga, Head of Commercial Banking who engaged with industry leaders, strengthening strategic relationships and contributing to key discussions focused on unlocking trade opportunities across Africa and beyond.
Julie also attended the Africa Trade Conference (ATC) 2026, held on 11 March at the Cape Town International Convention Centre. As a flagship platform sponsored by Access Bank Plc, ATC convened policymakers, financial institutions, and business leaders under the theme “Turning Vision into Velocity: Building Africa’s Ecosystem for Real-World Impact.” Discussions centred on addressing trade finance gaps, enhancing infrastructure, and accelerating intra-African trade.
In his opening remarks, Roosevelt Ogbonna, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Access Bank Plc, called for stronger collaboration among policymakers, financiers, and businesses to accelerate trade within Africa and unlock the continents full economic potential.
