Michael was until June 2007 a partner in Deloitte’s London Financial Services Practice, specialising in the regulation of financial services in UK and Europe. He has assisted many firms in obtaining authorisation in the UK and overseas, and conducted extensive due diligence exercises on a wide range of banks in Europe. He led many areas of work including anti-money laundering advice, monitoring assistance, MiFID, skilled person’s reviews, research on prudential regulation for FSA, and conflicts of interest. He joined Deloitte in 1997 from the FSA. Prior to this, Michael was secretary to the Board of Association of British Insurers, where he qualified as a chartered secretary.
