Herbert is an Alumnus of Harvard Business School Executive Management Programme and a qualified accountant. He holds a Masters Degree in Banking and International Finance from the University College of North Wales as well as in Financial Economics from the University of London.
He was appointed Deputy Managing Director of Access Bank Plc in March 2002. Herbert gained professional accountancy experiences at Coopers and Lybrand Associates (now PriceWaterhouse Coopers), an international firm of Chartered Accountants prior to his banking career. He has over two decades of experience, principally at Guaranty Trust Bank where he managed several portfolios including Financial Institutions, Local Corporates and Multinationals. He left Guaranty Trust as an Executive Director together with Aig Imoukhuede to champion the transformation of the new Access Bank. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.
